How much does an eye exam or contact lens exam cost?
We offer exams for both eyeglasses and contact lenses at our Vista Optical in Select Military Exchanges. The cost of the exam varies by store and optometrist at the location. For specific pricing on exams from our experienced independent optometrists, please visit or call a store near you.
What vision insurance plans do you accept?
Please visit our Vision Insurance page to see the national insurer plans we accept. If you don't see your provider listed, please call your local store to verify. Don't have vision insurance? Vista Optical is still a great place to shop with frames starting as low as $14.98!
Why do I have to put an item into my shopping cart to see the price?
It’s a step we’re sometimes required to take to give you the best price on eyewear. Often, our prices are lower than the prices our vendors permit us to advertise. Depending on our vendor’s guidelines, you may have to put a product into your shopping cart to reveal the price. You can always remove the product from your cart if you decide not to complete the purchase.
How can I make a payment on the managed care bill I received in the mail?
To make a payment please visit our website www.snappayglobal.com to make an online payment or mail the bottom portion of the statement in the envelope provided and enclosed your check or include your credit card information. For online payments, the Account Name is NVI and click the Pay Without Sign In link at the bottom of the screen. If you have any questions please contact us toll free at 800-524-1204 Monday-Friday 9am-6pm EST.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Vista Optical accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Cash, Check (with valid ID), and StarCard.
Does vista optical accept walk-ins?
We do accept walk-ins for exams for both glasses and contact lens. However, it's always best to call and schedule an appointment to ensure timely service. Please click here to find a location near you and schedule your appointment today.
How can I find a store location close to me?
Find your nearest Vista Optical location by entering your 5-digit zip code, or city & state in the "Find a Store" field at the top of our site or click here. If there is not a store near you, check back frequently as we are always opening up new locations.
Will I find a wide selection of glasses and lenses at your store?
You'll find a great selection of frames at your local store. Keep in mind that each store has a different selection of glasses. You'll find the widest selection online in our catalog. Customers can purchase any frame online with different lens upgrades and options like Transitions® Signature™lenses, premium anti-reflective coating, and fashion or sunglass tint.
Do I still need an eye exam if I already have a prescription?
If you have an existing prescription, you can bring it to a Vista Optical location to get a new pair of glasses or order contact lenses. If your prescription is expired or for some other reason invalid, or if you feel like your vision has changed, we suggest scheduling an exam with a Doctor of Optometry in one of our Vista Optical stores.
What is your return policy for glasses?
Undamaged merchandise accompanied by a receipt may be returned within 30 days for a refund. If your prescription changes within 60 days of your eye exam, we will replace your eyeglass lenses (with the same style) at no additional cost.
Can I buy contacts online?
Customers can purchase contact lenses and have them delivered to your home. You can also enroll in our Auto Reorder or Subscription Plans. For other questions about ordering contact lenses, please click here.
How are your prices so low?

Vista Optical is a low-price leader in a highly competitive eyewear market. Because we purchase a high volume of eyeglass frames from manufacturers, we're able to negotiate unheard-of low prices from our vendors. Then we pass those savings on to our customers!

Our company also owns and operates three of the highest-volume optical laboratories in the country. Outfitted with some of the most sophisticated optical equipment in the world, our labs are staffed by experts with decades of experience in eye care and manufacturing. Even if you choose designer frames, polycarbonate or hi-index lenses, upgrades like sunglass or fashion tint or a premium anti-reflective coating, we always provide our customers with huge savings!

How long will it take for me to receive my glasses?
Associates should give in-store customers an exact day of when their glasses order will arrive back at the store. A network of centralized labs allows us to get your finished glasses back to our customers in 7-10 business days. Please contact your local Vista Optical store to find out the status of your order.
Do you offer a protection plan or warranty in case my frames break?
Vista Optical provides automatic protection for your eyeglass frames and eyeglass lenses for 1 year. If your frames or lenses break, bend, or fail because of normal wear and tear, or are accidentally damaged during the year covered by the warranty, bring them to your Vista Optical store so we can replace them up to 2 times during the warranty period. This plan does not cover lost, stolen or abused frames or lenses, or scratched lenses
How can you help me save money if my kids are rough on glasses?
We automatically upgrade kids 13 and under to polycarbonate lenses, which offer better protection against breakage. Online purchases also include our product protection plan to cover the replacement of broken/bent frames. For other questions about ordering eyeglasses, please click here.
I've never had contacts before. How do I get trial contacts?
Make a contact lens exam appointment online or call 877-566-6766 to schedule an appointment with one of our Doctors of Optometry. Following your exam at one our Vista Optical locations, our associates will guide people wearing contact lenses for the first time through a training session using the new trial diagnostic lenses. Customers must return for a contact lens evaluation after wearing the trial diagnostic pair for about a week. Then you'll receive a finalized prescription.
